Baldivis Secondary College (SC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Vocational Education and Training Coordinator to join their school.
The successful applicant coordinates the establishment and operations of the school’s VET/WPL program, including establishing new work placements and locates suitable work placement sites and undertakes quality assurance processes. The successful applicant inducts industry representatives with the WPL program processes, as required and undertakes selection, training, induction and monitoring of students in the VET/WPL program, including providing a work readiness program. In addition the Vocational Education and Training Coordinator administers and monitors the VET/WPL program budget and maintains the VET/WPL program database.
Baldivis SC, located 46km south of Perth, is a relatively new and vibrant learning community and the first public secondary school established in the area. The college opened in 2013 with a single year group of 220 Year 8 students and 32 staff. In the ensuing years our College population had risen to over 1,800 students and nearly 200 staff, making Baldivis Secondary College one of Western Australia's fastest growing and largest secondary schools.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Skills and experience in developing, implementing and evaluating VET/WPL programs.
- Well developed written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports.
- Well developed oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels, facilitate school/industry partnerships and work in a collaborative team environment.
- Well developed organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and identify priorities.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
