Esperance Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and committed Agriculture Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2020.
Esperance SHS school farm has a small, enthusiastic staff and a small group of keen students located in an ideal setting. We are looking for teachers who possess a strong academic knowledge of school farm practice and an ability to work as part of a team and with students of mixed academic and behavioural standards.
Esperance SHS school farm has three teaching staff, a farm supervisor and several agricultural technical officers. Approximately 40 students, years 10, 11, 12, attend on a daily basis traveling out to the farm each day from the school on ESHS buses. The year 10 program is orientated to some at risk students.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement
