Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: This senior position participates in our Out of hours Haematology roster covering Transfusion, Haematology and Coagulation. You will apply advanced procedures and techniques, both routine and complex to examine haematological specimens within the Department of Haematology (including Coagulation, Transfusion Medicine and Routine Haematology). You will also be required to maintain an inventory of blood and blood products, examine haematological specimens as well as provide consultancy services in haematology.
You will be required to work at both Fiona Stanley and Royal Perth Hospitals from time to time and to provide cover with leave relief necessitating working up to four shifts per week on an adhoc basis. The hours of this rotating shift position currently covers: evening shifts 15:00 to 00:00, Night shifts 00:00 to 08:30 and Weekend Day shifts 07:30 to 16:30 hours.
