Claims Liaison Officer
About the Position
This position is responsible for the management and coordination of workers’ compensation claims lodged by:
- Dependents of workers involved in fatal accidents at work; and
- Workers whose employers did not have worker’s compensation insurance when an injury occurred.
Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting preliminary investigations regarding claims;
- Responding to enquiries from workers, employers, dependents and others about claims processes, entitlements and documentation;
- Pro-actively managing a portfolio of claims in accordance with the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 and WorkCover WA’s policies and procedures;
- Directing and instructing WorkCover WA’s claims management and legal providers;
- Maintaining regular contact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; and
- Preparation of regular claims status reports.
To be successful in this position prospective applicants should possess:
- Experience with claims management involving fatalities and other complex claims;
- Ability to quickly and effectively analyse and evaluate information and formulate claims management plans;
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Ability to deal with stakeholders in sensitive situations.
