Kewdale Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher - Middle and Upper - Years 4-5 to join their highly collaborative team.
The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be a highly effective classroom teacher and be capable of engaging and motivating students to achieve their academic, social and emotional potential in a safe supportive environment. You will have evidence based; innovative teaching practices and be able to cater for individual needs. It is desirable that the successful applicant be able to forensically analyse NAPLAN data, in particular using the CNAP software to inform classroom planning, and SEN planning and reporting.
As a teacher at Kewdale PS, you will have a passion for explicit teaching; have highly developed organisation and interpersonal skills, a thirst for student achievement and a willingness to inspire learning in others. You will be committed to engaging positively in the Performance Management process, and to participating in the school’s highly effective Peer Observation program
Kewdale PS is a well-organised and well-equipped school. The school has a library resource centre, under cover area, purpose built science and music rooms together with modern Early Childhood Centre. In addition, the administration area is of a modern spacious design and classrooms are all air-conditioned The school has a well-equipped computer room containing 30 standard computers. In addition, the library has a bank of computers, ensuring the school is well positioned to implement contemporary Learning Technology programmes and is well placed in preparation for NAPLAN online which commences this year.
All classes have interactive whiteboards which teachers are expected to use in their learning programs. The school has a large bank of iPads which teachers use in several subject areas, and which are particularly used in STEM activities, and it is desirable that the successful applicant be proficient in this area, as well as using Dot and Dash robots.
The Staff have undertaken Professional Development in Department of Education and Training Curriculum initiatives and there is a willingness to embrace and implement change. All staff have recently undergone PL in Talk4Writing which has been successfully implemented in all classrooms, and it is desirable that the successful applicant would be able to continue this.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
