We currently have the following positions available:
- 2 x - permanent full-time positions
- 1 x – permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position
All positions will commence Term 2, 2019
Rockingham Beach Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to appoint a motivated Teacher – Education Support to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant would need to be motivated, compassionate, flexible and organised. In this position it is essential that you are familiar with or willing to learn strategies such as applied behaviour analysis, direct instruction, backward chaining, task analysis and errorless learning to work effectively with our diverse range of students. Being trained in Team Teach and familiar with augmentative alternative communication devices both low and high tech, would be an advantage. A willingness to differentiate and make adjustments for individuals needs to be demonstrated.
Highly developed classroom management skills are crucial to create the safe and caring environments required for optimal learning to take place. You will possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate strong leadership within the classroom and community. We are looking for suitably qualified or experienced teachers with a passion for working with children with special needs.
Rockingham Beach ESC is a small dynamic Independent Public School with a strong team of hard working professionals who work collaboratively to create a supportive and caring environment in which our students thrive.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
