Position Profile: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior human resource (HR) professional to join a dynamic team working with the Area Director Workforce and other internal and external stakeholders, to provide strategic and technical advice on workforce management and planning issues. You will also be responsible for leading a significant transformation within the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) to transition the service in order to meet its obligations as an independent legal employing entity and to ensure the team is capable of providing accurate and timely inhouse advice on all HR related matters.
The Director HR will oversee the HR teams delivering services to areas including the Women and Newborn Health Service, Mental Health and Public Health. In this role you will be responsible for leading the HR teams to provide effective, high quality services and to develop productive working relationships with a range of internal staff, managers and stakeholders in order to meet corporate objectives. You will be charged with the responsibility of ensuring that all public sector compliance and accountability requirements are met, and for promoting robust decision making and effectively allocating resources to meet planned and other business outcomes.
The successful applicant will possess a comprehensive track record in the delivery and management of HR services at a senior level within a complex change environment; as well as an excellent understanding of contemporary workforce issues and trends and substantial experience leading workforce change management, project coordination and human resource management. To be successful you will need to demonstrate your excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills as well as a proven capability in building effective working relationships across a range of organisational levels.
Area Profile: The NMHS offers a range of Statewide highly specialised multidisciplinary services from several hospital and outpatient/ambulatory care settings, servicing a current population of almost 750,000 which is projected to grow to more than 1.1 million by 2020. The NMHS is a statutory authority governed by the NMHS Board, comprising a mix of tertiary, specialist and generalist hospitals including: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Osborne Park Hospital, Graylands Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital, Joondalup Health Campus (Public Private Partnership), Women and Newborn Health Service, Mental Health, Public Health and Dental Health Services.
