About the role
We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Senior Systems Administrator with demonstrated coordination experience and excellent communication and time management skills to join our Digital and Technology Services team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- managing, administering and supporting the department’s networking, telecommunications, computer and virtual server infrastructure and our presence in the cloud.
- providing advanced support for the departments primary systems and servers in addition to implementing and managing information security practices.
- undertaking key ITS projects to ensure adoption of latest technical trends and their application within the departments business information systems.
This position is fixed term to 9 March 2019 with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. At the conclusion of the initial engagement, an extension may be offered or the Department may choose to readvertise the opportunity.
This is a full-time, temporary vacancy.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the DLGSC and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered fixed term, part- time and full- time.
Location
This role is based at Gordon Stephenson House, 140 William Street, Perth.
