Comet Bay College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified passionate and committed Health and Physical Education (HPE) teacher for 2019. The successful applicants need to have demonstrated effective experience teaching HPE with particular focus in the Outdoor Education area. The successful applicants will be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 – 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the HPE Courses and experience in teaching Senior School Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) HPE to help our students achieve outstanding results. Comet Bay College has introduced a new Positive Culture period for all year 7 to 9 students and the successful applicant will need to take a leadership role within this program. Experience in developing and running team and positive relationship building activities is desirable.

The HPE Learning Area is a vibrant, hard-working department committed to providing physically active learning experiences to the college’s students while providing award winning programs such as the state leading and West Australian Football Commission “benchmark” Australian Football Specialist Program (a DoE Approved Specialist Sport Program) Surfing Program, Soccer Program, Outdoor Education and Basketball Program all expertly coordinated by a talented group of staff.

Comet Bay College is a modern, innovative Independent Public School that caters for Year 7-12 students and is located one kilometre from the coast in the vibrant community of Secret Harbour. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
