Churchlands Senior High School is seeking enthusiastic and hardworking collaborative and forward thinking Secondary Arts Teachers from the subjects of visual art, design photography, media, dance and drama to join their friendly team. We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year.
The Arts learning area at Churchlands Senior High School is a collegiate and innovative department. The Arts Department staff are regularly involved in a number of extra-curricular opportunities, including regular interstate camps, local camps and regular excursions as well as involvement in student based competitions, exhibitions and parent evenings.
Suitable applicants will be flexible, creative and forward thinking, as well as able to teach a range of arts subjects. Experience in senior secondary courses including experience teaching ATAR in one area is advantageous.
As part of your standard practice, you will reflect on and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practices using a variety of methods available within the school. You will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. Creating and promoting an environment conducive to active and positive learning and that caters for different student learning needs will also be a strength of the successful applicants. In addition the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices will be considered favourably.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
