Dandaragan Primary School (DPS) is a small rural school with a cohort of less than 50 students mostly from farming families. We are seeking a teacher for a 0.8 FTE fixed-term teaching position in a multi-aged class of pre-primary, year one and two students for 2019, with the possibility of extension and permanency in the future. The successful applicant will be required to provide innovative and challenging learning programs based on the West Australian Curriculum and The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
To be suitable for this role you will require the ability to work collaboratively with peers in a tandem teaching situation. Applicants need to be able to contribute to the team, be highly motivated and possess a strong work ethic.
The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal skills and contribute to whole school initiatives and planning. The school is currently developing a new business plan with input from all staff and the community. Priorities identified for the new plan are: reading for boys; the physical and sensory development of young students; and digital technologies. Strengths in these areas are desirable. We are looking for someone enthusiastic to integrate Information Computer Technology (ICT) across the curriculum.
DPS participates annually with local schools in a Performing Arts Festival, and has a high quality performance at the end of year awards night valued by families and the community. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to these events.
Strong partnerships exist between staff, the School Council, parents and community groups. Suitable applicants are required to communicate regularly with parents as a collaborative partnership in the education of each child.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
