Tom Price Primary School (PS) is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Health and Physical Education (H&PE) to commence in the 2019 school year.
The successful applicant for this position will be an enthusiastic and passionate teacher of H&PE with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. They will exhibit the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant primary school H&PE curriculum. The successful applicant will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students within an organised and supportive H&PE Department.
The staff at Tom Price PS are motivated and professional. They have formed a collegiate group which collaborates well and responds effectively to student and community needs. The school adopts a ‘whole of staff approach’ and sees all staff involved in school planning, school activities and professional development.
Tom Price PS is situated in the Pilbara Education District some 1,500 kilometres north of Perth. It is one of two primary schools located in Tom Price. The school was opened in 1967, on its present location to service the children of workers in the local iron ore mine. It is a great place to work and learn where the students’ needs are the starting point for all teaching and learning at the school, and effective school community partnerships provide a structure for meeting these needs.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
