Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) is seeking applications from suitably qualified Health and Physical Education Teachers to fill permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year. Placements can be made from the pool at any time for commencement in the 2019 school year.
Suitable applicants will have a proven ability to work as part of a learning team to provide high quality learning experiences for all students. Within this role you will be provided the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 applying your knowledge of Health and Physical Education, whilst using best practice teaching and learning principles in the delivery of the curriculum. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully teach Year 11 and 12 Health and Physical Education courses including Physical Education Studies, Health Studies, Outdoor Education and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. The ability to teach Certificate II courses in the Health and Physical Education area and a current Certificate IV in in Training and Assessment are desirable.
Eastern Hills SHS is located 40 km east of Perth at Mount Helena serving a range of communities located mostly in the Mundaring Shire. The school has an extensive curriculum offering. This provides opportunities for students to follow pathways suited to their aspirations and needs. The school is a partner in the New North Education Initiative, is an Aspire University of Western Australia (UWA) school and has developed links with Edith Cowan University (ECU) to enhance the curriculum further. The school has a large music program which, due to its high standards, has been awarded the status of Approved Specialist Program.
The school has in recent years been undergoing revitalisation of facilities, ethos and practice. This has resulted in an enhanced learning environment in which students can engage with learning in a modern and dynamic manner. School aspirations and standards have risen in this time. The school has developed as a learning community based on respect and collaboration resulting in it being recognised as a leader in the implementation of the positive behaviour in schools programs.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
