Newton Moore Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Student Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year.
We are seeking applicants who are highly motivated, compassionate and have the ability to work and relate well with students with disabilities. We are looking for someone who is competent in providing support to the Student Services team, has the ability to liaise with staff, parents and students with special needs.

To be suitable for this role, you need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide a professional, confidential service to a range of clients;
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
- Experience in the use of computerised management information systems including database, spreadsheet and word processing software;
- Effective organisational skills and experience in providing administrative support with the ability to manage conflicting timelines.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
