Poynter Primary School (PS) is seeking an experienced Primary Physical Education and Health teacher to run successful and innovative programs at Poynter PS.
With proven ability, the successful applicant will co-ordinate and develop an innovative Physical Education and Health program across Year 1 to Year 6. As an active team member, the successful applicant will need to have a strong and successful background in organising school and sporting cluster events, strong communication and interpersonal skill in order to liaise with other specialists. The successful applicant needs to have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, external agencies, service providers and students.
Poynter PS is located in the suburb of Duncraig and it opened in October 1980. The school's unique location, only 15 kilometres from the CBD, affords easy access to beaches and quality leisure and sporting facilities. Poynter Primary School has a proud academic tradition of providing quality educational learning opportunities across all learning areas. Enrolments are consistently around 530 students and national testing results support the school's reputation for strong academic achievement.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
