The Western Australian Herbarium houses the State collection of scientific specimens of vascular plants, algae, bryophytes, lichens, fungi and slime moulds. This collection is dynamic and provides the authoritative, permanent and physical record for the presence, distribution and names of plant species in Western Australia.
Similar appointments may be made from this process in locations throughout Western Australia within a 12-month period to positions that may be permanent or contract, including contract appointments with the possibility of subsequent permanency.

Job Description
Manages the State Collection of plants and fungi, the research facility, visitor access and volunteer programs.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following six (6) criteria in a written application. These should be addressed in no more than five (5) pages in total.

Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

Extensive herbarium experience and knowledge of herbarium curation procedures.

Working knowledge and use of herbarium database systems.

Working knowledge of plant taxonomy.

Demonstrated project management skills including financial management.

Well-developed team building, leadership and communication skills.
