Shenton College is seeking to establish a pool of Assistant Gardeners - Handypersons for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026/2027 school year, from the beginning of Term 3, 2026 up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointment can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within this period.

The Role

Working under the direction of the Head Gardener, suitable applicants will become part of a dedicated and collaborative team responsible for maintaining the College grounds and facilities to a high standard, ensuring a safe, attractive and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

The ideal applicants will be reliable and self-motivated individuals with sound knowledge of gardening practices, gardening equipment and plants. You should be capable of working independently as well as contributing effectively within a team environment. In addition to routine grounds maintenance, you will undertake minor repairs, maintain tools and equipment, and carry out a range of gardening and handyperson duties as required. Previous experience in a gardening, grounds maintenance or handyperson role will be highly regarded.
