We are proudly located on Wadjuk Noongar Boodjar. We learn and play on the land and in the water that has been cared for by elders past and are learning to connect with and care for our land and waterways from the traditional landowners who walk on our journey with us.

Our specialised team of staff encourage students to confidently embrace challenges and become resilient life-long learners. Our school vision is underpinned by a school community focus on challenging and supporting each student to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As a Deputy Principal, you should apply your professional knowledge, leadership expertise and understanding of contemporary educational practice to support high quality teaching and learning across the school. Working collaboratively with the Principal, Executive Leadership Team and broader school community, the Deputy Principal plays a key role in driving school improvement and ensuring positive outcomes for all students.

We are seeking an experienced and highly effective leader with a strong background in upper primary education. The successful applicant should display the ability to build positive relationships, lead with integrity and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. They will ideally possess strong mentoring and collegiate leadership skills, with experience supporting teachers and education assistants through a robust performance and development culture.

A displayed capacity to provide instructional coaching, classroom observation and constructive feedback to staff is highly desirable. Experience in developing and implementing whole-school coaching frameworks, leading professional learning and analysing student and teaching data to evaluate impact and inform future practice will be highly regarded. Applicants should display a comprehensive understanding of contemporary curriculum, pedagogy and evidence-based teaching practices across a primary setting, together with a proven track record of improving student outcomes.

The successful applicant would oversee key aspects of upper primary schooling, including the coordination of excursions and camps, and will serve as the school's Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Coach. They should support staff to implement whole-school behaviour expectations, foster positive learning environments and promote student engagement and wellbeing.

A sound understanding of the Level 3 Classroom Teacher process and the ability to support aspirant leaders and experienced teachers in their professional growth is highly desirable. Experience in leading or supporting school improvement and change processes, or a willingness to undertake further professional learning in change management, will also be viewed favourably.

As a member of the leadership team, the Deputy Principal works closely with families and the wider school community. Experience working with School Boards and Parents and Citizens' Associations (P&C) is highly desirable, along with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Given the school's commitment to inclusive education and the operation of a Nurture Program, applicants with experience supporting students with complex behaviours and a strong understanding of autism and other neurodiverse needs will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should display the ability to lead staff in developing inclusive practices that enable all students to engage, achieve and thrive.

This is a full-time position and may include a teaching component. The successful applicant should be committed to fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous improvement while ensuring every student is provided with the opportunity to achieve success.
