Education Business Services are seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of June 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

This role will provide an opportunity for you to kick-start and build upon your existing skills by being exposed to and directly learning from senior executives within Education Business Services to expand your experience in responding to complex and strategic matters across the Department of Education.

Education Business Services delivers critical corporate and operational support that underpins high-quality education outcomes for students across Western Australia. The division enables the effective functioning of the Department through the provision of payroll and procurement services, school funding, information management, ICT, and the management of facilities and infrastructure.

The Role

As Principal Consultant, you will provide high-level strategic advice and professional support to senior executives across complex and sensitive matters. You will contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures and standards, and undertake in-depth research to identify emerging issues and inform decision-making.

A significant component of the role involves preparing and quality assuring briefing papers, ministerial correspondence, reports and presentations, as well as providing advice to stakeholders on policy and operational matters. You will build and maintain strong relationships across the Department while promoting a culture of collaboration.

This is a dynamic opportunity suited to professionals with highly-developed communication, analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
