We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Located in Margaret River, Rapids Landing Primary School first opened in January 2018. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will, under teacher direction, assist in implementing educational programs and promoting a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Education Assistants play a vital role in supporting students to reach their full potential across academic, social, emotional, and physical domains. This includes assisting in the delivery of planned educational programs and using digital technologies and classroom resources effectively.

In this role, you will also be expected to provide feedback on education and therapy programs when required and participate in the evaluation of student progress toward individual goals within a special education context.

Suitable applicants will ideally have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet the diverse needs of students. Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties is highly desirable, along with the capacity to support students’ academic and social development in the classroom.

Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the role may require working across multiple classrooms with students of varying needs and backgrounds. A willingness to engage in our whole-school coaching process and a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development are also highly valued.
