We are looking for an
organised and proactive professional who is passionate about
delivering high quality education in the Next Step Drug and Alcohol
Services to contribute to an organisation that makes a real
difference to the lives of people in our community. The Next Step
Drug and Alcohol Services Nurse Educator (NE) must have experience
in designing, implementing, managing and evaluating education and
training programs, as well as well-developed interpersonal and
negotiation skills.

Eligibility to
Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must
have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an
Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and
work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent
appointments).

Whilst this
selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy,
it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout
the health service. In addition to this, should the successful
applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next
most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12)
months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment
decision.
The Next Step
Drug and Alcohol Services NE, as part of the multidisciplinary
team, is responsible for the development, facilitation,
implementation and evaluation of educational, professional
development programs/resources and strategies for nursing and
related services. Areas of accountability will include leadership,
development, implementation and review of quality and safety
initiatives, the setting of clinical standards, policy development
and change management. They will work in collaboration with
colleagues and the Coordinator of Nursing. The Next Step Drug and
Alcohol Services NE may be required to visit other sites and it is
desirable for them to hold a “C” or “C.C” class drivers
licence.
Key
responsibilities include:
Leadership and
Development: Oversees the design and delivery and
evaluation of drug and alcohol and other community services for the
multidisciplinary team
Implementation and
Evaluation: Ensures programs meet operational objectives
and learning needs of staff and other consumers.
Policy and
Safety: Participates in the development of evidence-based
standards and policies in alignment with relevant professional and
legislative requirements
Collaboration:
Liaises with the multidisciplinary team and other senior education
and training coordinators to ensure education programs are
clinically relevant, reflect lived experience.
