The School
South Hedland Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School, proudly catering to a diverse student population of approximately 240 students, with 56% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Science and Technologies Teacher who is committed to making a difference in the lives of students and contributing positively to our collaborative school culture.
The successful applicant will deliver engaging Science and Digital Technologies programs to students from Years 1 to 6, fostering curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The role also provides opportunities to support and extend students through our developing Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) initiatives and enrichment opportunities.
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, motivated and skilled educator who is committed to improving outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching and instructional strategies.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant is committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. They should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs using a sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
