the Role
Are you an
experienced Social Worker passionate about supporting children
Young people and families from refugee and refugee-like
backgrounds?
The Child and
Adolescent Community Health Service are seeking a Senior
Social Worker to join our Refugee Health Team
(RHT) based Midland You will join a supportive,
multidisciplinary team committed to culturally safe, equitable and
high-quality community care and support children and families from
refugee and refugee-like backgrounds as they navigate resettlement
and access health, developmental and social support
services.
As a senior
clinician, you will provide advanced social work assessment,
intervention and case management, while contributing leadership,
consultation and expertise within a specialist refugee health
setting.
As the Senior
Social Worker, you will manage a specialised caseload and work
collaboratively with children, families, health professionals,
schools, community organisations and government agencies to promote
positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
You work
collaboratively with health professionals, health services,
government agencies, and community organisations you will help
ensure clients receive sensitive, accessible, equitable, and
culturally appropriate care, while contributing to improved
engagement and health outcomes in line with a primary health care
approach.
Key
responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialist
services in the areas of resettlement, child health and
development, and child protection.
- Conduct
holistic assessments; provide case management; liaise with
external service
- Working
collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and
participating in interagency case conferences.
- Support
families to engage with health, education and welfare
systems
- Contributing to service
planning, quality improvement initiatives, policy development
and program evaluation.
- Identify
and response to child protection, family violence and mental
health concerns
- Building
strong partnerships with community agencies and stakeholders to
support coordinated service delivery.
- Strengthen family
resilience and self-advocacy
- Delivering education,
training and consultation to professionals and community groups
on refugee health and child wellbeing.
We are
seeking an applicant who demonstrates a strong understanding of
refugee experiences and the social determinants of health, and who
is committed to delivering equitable, person‑centred
care.

advanced skills in individual, child and family therapy, and group
work practice with children and families, together with advanced
knowledge of social work theory, practice and policy relating to
child health, child development and child protection within
culturally diverse populations, we encourage you to

A
tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full
membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
is required for this role.
About Child & Adolescent Community Health
(CACH): Our teams provide health and
developmental assessments, early intervention and health promotion
services for children and young people across the Perth
metropolitan area.
These
services delivered at community health centres, schools, homes and
through telehealth appointments with a focus on child health,
growth and development, behaviour, immunisation and family
support.
