THE OPPORTUNITY
The Road Safety Commission manages and administers the Road Trauma Trust Account (RTTA), a special purpose account established under the Road Safety Council Act 2002.
The RTTA reinvests 100% of road traffic infringement revenue into road safety initiatives, supporting programs and projects aligned with the State’s Driving Change Strategy. These initiatives are delivered and coordinated by the Road Safety Commission and are designed to improve road safety behaviour and “get people home to the ones they love”.
This role provides an opportunity to enhance governance, support the continued growth of RTTA programs and initiatives, and drive improved road safety outcomes.
There is currently one (1) temporary appointment available for immediate filling for twelve (12) months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
THE ROLE
The Director leads and coordinates the management, governance and financial oversight of the RTTA, ensuring compliance with the Road Safety Council Act 2002, the Financial Management Act 2006, and other relevant strategies, policies and legislation.
The role provides strategic leadership to a team responsible for financial modelling, and the analysis, assessment and evaluation of RTTA programs and initiatives.
The role provides strategic advice to the senior executive on the management of the RTTA, including the preparation of Ministerial briefings, Parliamentary Questions, Expenditure Review Committee submissions, budget papers, and recommendations to the Road Safety Council.
The role also builds and maintains collaborative cross-agency partnerships to ensure RTTA priorities and programs are effectively delivered, with funding directed to impactful road safety initiatives that contribute to the goal of “making every journey safe” and driving improved road safety outcomes.
