About The Role:

As the Freedom of Information (FOI) Consultant, you will play a key role in the Departments delivery of end-to-end FOI services under the Freedom of Information Act 1992. Working within a collaborative and values-driven team, you will manage FOI enquiries and applications, coordinate and assess documents for release, make formal decisions and provide support to senior decision-makers across the department.

About You:

The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume, high performing team environment and brings a strong understanding of applying legislative or regulatory frameworks to assess information and support decision‑making. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, you are confident in preparing and coordinating information and responses in line with legislation, policies, and guidelines.  Your well‑developed written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills enable you to deliver a customer‑centric service and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

With continuous improvement front of mind, you actively identify opportunities to strengthen practices, enhance FOI processes, and support organisational capability uplift.

The position operates in Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.
