for an experienced, passionate and motivated leader with a strong
track record in Aboriginal policy and strategic cultural
leadership, to shape the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS)
Aboriginal health portfolio and positively influence and improve
Aboriginal outcomes. This will include knowledge and understanding
of Aboriginal family structure, culture and customs and their
associated impact on the health journey of Aboriginal people and
their communities.
We are seeking a candidate
with exceptional communication, influencing and interpersonal
skills with a demonstrated capability to effectively engage and
establish partnership across a broad range of relevant
stakeholders.
This is a Permanent
Full-Time appointment at 76 hours per fortnight.

What
is our Director Aboriginal Health role?
This is a unique role which
provides strategic leadership and oversight of the development,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Aboriginal health
initiatives, policies and programs aligned to the WA Aboriginal
Health and Wellbeing Framework and ensures culturally safe and
responsive care is embedded throughout NMHS.
The position leads a small
but growing team and works collaboratively across clinical and
non-clinical units to ensure Aboriginal perspectives and cultural
security are prioritised.
As a senior leader at NMHS,
the Director maintains an expert awareness of Aboriginal health
research, trends, developments and reforms (at both a state and
National level), and leads the preparation of major reports, agency
responses and submissions in relation to Aboriginal
Health.
The Director facilitates
engagement, collaboration and effective partnerships with
Aboriginal health partners and communities, as well as key internal
and external stakeholders. In addition, the position represents the
organisation at key forums and provides key insights and advice to
the North Executive Team, NMHS Board and other senior
leaders.
