This is a permanent full-time position, part time (0.8 Full Time Equivalent) will be considered for the right applicant.

Position Profile:

We are seeking an experienced administrator Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Officer to join our service to provide coordination and administrative support to the Oncology and Haematology Department. 

This position serves the department as the central point of communication for multidisciplinary team meetings, organising and facilitating meetings, managing patient data entry into relevant systems, and supporting the accurate capturing of activity for the department. 

Your empathy and resilience will be key in this role as you will work within the wider team supporting the care for children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer and blood disorders. You will collaborate with clinicians and administrative teams to ensure seamless recording of service events and development of efficient methods of capturing episodes of care across the complex oncology pathway and specialty teams, enhancing communication and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and supporting MDT case conferences and clinical review meetings, including weekly and monthly clinical planning meetings, cancer stream, and patient led MDTs
  • Tasks include organising meetings, preparing agendas, compiling case lists and supporting documents, managing correspondence, generating custom reports to ensure compliance to MCC / MDT criteria and ensure efficient communication between teams.
  • Maintaining clinical data such as patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy in WebPAS for case validation, data entry, and compliance.
  • Streamlining patient notes and outcome requirements by working closely with consultants, senior nursing team, and members of the allied health team, and outpatient administrative teams to provide integrated care for patients and families.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely information delivery to relevant services or centres to optimise revenue from activity-based funding.

If you have strong administrative skills with experience in hospital-based MDT coordination, and hospital administration we encourage you to apply.  

Some understanding of oncology pathways and the complexity of patient care and knowledge of Activity-Based Funding (ABF) is an advantage, although not essential.

The Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Oncology and Haematology at Perth Children’s Hospital provides statewide, comprehensive care for children aged 0–16 and their families, addressing a wide range of cancer and haematology conditions, including malignant and non-malignant blood disorders.

Our services are designed to meet the complex medical, psychological, and emotional needs of young patients and their families through a holistic, multidisciplinary approach. This includes the diagnosis and management of cancer and blood disorders, as well as pain management, nutritional support, infection prevention, and psychological support to help families cope with the challenges of cancer and chronic illness. We also provide education, follow-up, and survivorship care.

We work in close collaboration with other hospitals and participate in clinical trials across national and international networks to facilitate better outcomes for our young patients and allow patients to access cutting-edge therapies locally.
