THE OPPORTUNITY

The Western Australia Police Force is searching for a highly motivated Executive Manager to lead a dedicated team of Senior Sergeants / Senior Review Officers within the Management Audit Unit, which forms a key part of the agency’s Standards and Legal Portfolio. THE ROLE 

As the Executive Manager, your primary focus will be on strengthening governance standards and improving the organisational effectiveness of the Western Australia Police Force. You will report directly to the Assistant Director and will be responsible for leading a team of Senior Sergeants and Senior Review Officers. In this capacity, you will manage and coordinate the annual Business Area Compliance Audit Plan, ensuring that all activities align with agency policies and legislative requirements.

Your duties will encompass planning and executing a range of audits throughout the organisation. You will maintain the agency’s 'Good Governance Practice Guide', which serves as a foundational resource for compliance and best practice. Developing effective audit procedures and managing external contractors for outsourced audits will also be central to your role.

Additionally, you will provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on audit findings, supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement. This position demands a high degree of integrity, adaptability, and attention to detail. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
