About The Role:
As a senior consultant in the Freedom of Information (FOI) team you will play a pivotal role in leading the coordination and delivery of end‑to‑end FOI service delivery, provide expert advice to senior leaders on the interpretation of the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (FOI Act) and drive capability building across the organisation.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be confident and capable in a leading role to guide the Department’s FOI function. With sound judgement and a practical understanding of legislative and policy frameworks, you will be able to interpret and apply requirements consistently while building strong and trusted relationships across the Department. You will be someone who can navigate complex and sensitive matters with clarity, provide expert advice to decision makers ensuring high-quality, compliant release of information. With excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, you will work collaboratively across the organisation to uplift capability, strengthen practices and drive continuous improvement in FOI processes, policies and frameworks.
The position operates in Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.
