About the role
We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable professionals with expertise in Programming to help shape the next generation of talent. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver high-quality training and assessment that equips students with the skills and confidence to thrive in the industry.
As a lecturer, you will play a key role in creating an engaging learning environment—teaching, mentoring, and guiding students in alignment with the relevant curriculum or training package requirements. You will also contribute to Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery, supporting the continuous improvement of our programs.
To ensure our students receive the most current and industry‑relevant education, lecturers are expected to stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices. Ongoing professional development is essential, enabling you to provide up‑to‑date insights and valuable advice to both the College and the broader industry.
Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment you must hold as a minimum a Certificate IV in Information Technology and have at least 5 years industry experience.
There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Registration Standards 2025 (2025 Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).
Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however North Metro TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.
