We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officer for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027 Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Takari is an Aboriginal word meaning 'Tomorrow'. Established in 1969, Takari Primary School is located in the northern suburbs of Perth in the Balcatta area. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. With an approximate population of 185 students, we are a small school where every child is known and valued.

The staff are highly competent and committed to providing a supportive, safe and nurturing environment to all our students. School improvement initiatives focusing on 'Curriculum and Teaching', 'Conditions for Learning' and 'Leadership and Management' drive our strategic direction. A School Chaplain supports the Student Services team two days a week and a School Psychologist attends one day a week. The school also partners with various agencies that provide trained volunteers to work with small groups or individual students.

The Role

To be successful in this role applicants should be adaptable to changing daily priorities and ideally have experience in a school environment. The school officer undertakes administrative support duties, reception duties and assists with student related activities such as preparing newsletters, correspondence, managing Executive Team member diaries and appointments, enrolments and student attendance records.

Suitable applicants will ideally communicate well, both written and verbal, as well as having good knowledge of customer service principles. In addition, it will be advantageous for applicants to possess strong organisational skills in delivering and prioritising tasks when under pressure.
