The Role

The Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) will play a vital role in fostering a welcoming, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment within our KindiLink program.

Our KindiLink program is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children prior to commencing Kindergarten, with parents and carers attending and participating alongside their children. The program is delivered collaboratively by an Early Childhood Teacher and an AIEO.

As a key member of the KindiLink team, the AIEO acts as an important bridge between home, school and community. They build strong and respectful relationships with families and help parents and carers feel valued, connected and confident in supporting their child's learning journey.

The successful applicant will support the delivery of engaging learning experiences and contribute to the social, emotional and educational development of children. They will also promote strong family engagement and participation in the program.

A significant aspect of the role is ensuring Aboriginal culture, perspectives and ways of knowing are visible, respected and celebrated throughout all aspects of KindiLink.

This rewarding position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families by creating a strong sense of belonging, strengthening community connections and supporting positive educational outcomes from the earliest years of learning.
