About the
Role
The Child and Adolescent
Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an operational leader with strong
strategic planning and facilities management experience to join our
team as Area Director Facilities
Management.
This is a unique opportunity
to lead services that directly impact patient care, staff wellbeing
and organisational performance while contributing to the future
development of one of Australia's leading paediatric health
services.
Reporting to the Director
Infrastructure and Facilities Management, you will lead a
multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the operation,
maintenance and performance of critical hospital infrastructure,
building and engineering services, plant and equipment at Perth
Children's Hospital and Neonatology and our community-based
facilities within the Perth metropolitan area.
This includes overseeing the
operation and maintenance of complex healthcare systems including
HVAC, medical gases, steam and hydraulic systems, fire protection,
emergency power generation, building management systems and
associated engineering services.
You will work closely with
executives, clinicians, contractors and government stakeholders, to
ensure facilities are safe, compliant, sustainable and responsive
to the evolving needs of healthcare delivery, and have opportunity
to influence asset management, infrastructure performance and
long-term facilities planning.
Key
Responsibilities include:
- Leading
and managing multidisciplinary facilities management and
engineering teams across CAHS.
- Developing and
implementing strategic facilities management plans aligned to
organisational priorities.
- Managing
operational budgets, resources, maintenance programs and
contractor performance.
- Ensuring
compliance with statutory, regulatory and accreditation
requirements.
- Providing expert advice
on infrastructure projects, asset management and facilities
planning.
- Leading
risk management, emergency response planning and recovery
strategies relating to engineering and facilities
services.
- Driving
preventative maintenance, asset lifecycle planning and
replacement programs.
- Establishing and
monitoring energy management initiatives and sustainability
programs.
- Building strong partnerships
with internal stakeholders, government agencies, Health Service
Providers and contractors.

our Team
The Infrastructure and
Facilities Management Team plays a vital role in creating safe,
functional, and contemporary environments that support the delivery
of world-class care to children, young people, and their families
across Western Australia.
The team manages the
day-to-day operations of more than 172 community sites as well as
Perth Children’s Hospital and our Neonatology satellite unit at
King Edward Memorial Hospital, ensuring facilities are safe,
compliant, and aligned with organisational and legislative
requirements. From coordinating maintenance programs and managing
contractors to supporting property transitions and implementing
innovative facility solutions, the team provides critical support
to enable high-quality patient care.
