The Role

Ideally, we are seeking strategic and relational leader who displays exceptional knowledge and expertise in implementing research and evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning. The successful applicant will ideally display a deep understanding of contemporary curriculum and pedagogical practices, with the ability to build staff capacity across the breadth of the curriculum.

A strong knowledge of evidence-based curriculum design, effective instructional practices and data analysis is desirable. The successful applicant will ideally lead the development of high-quality, inclusive whole-school programs that are delivered with consistency and minimal variance across classrooms.

A key focus of the role is building staff capability through coaching, feedback and professional learning, with a clear commitment to improving student outcomes. The successful applicant will ideally possess a deep understanding of student and school performance data, including the ability to analyse a range of datasets to identify trends, monitor progress and evaluate the impact of teaching and learning programs.

They will work closely with staff to build data literacy across the school, using evidence to guide strategic planning, drive continuous improvement, and implement targeted initiatives that enhance student achievement and wellbeing. A displayed ability to translate data insights into clear, actionable school priorities aligned with Department of Education expectations and Public School Review processes will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will also display a highly developed capacity to work collaboratively as part of a high-functioning leadership team, contribute to a positive and professional school culture, and build strong relationships with staff, students and the wider community.

Overall, the Deputy Principal serves as a key figure for educational leadership and operational effectiveness within the school.
