The Industrial and Employee Relations Directorate comprises the Industrial Relations and Employee Relations branches and is responsible for ensuring compliance with industrial instruments and associated legislative frameworks.
The Directorate provides strategic and operational advice and support on a wide range of industrial and employee relations matters, supports effective performance management, and assists school leaders and line managers with discrete human resource issues , while advising the Minister, Director General and senior leaders on complex workforce matters.
The Role
The role works with an Industrial Relations team in providing advice, support and training to Principals and line managers, including Award and Agreement interpretation, and industrial relations issues relevant to key stakeholders. This includes operating with limited autonomy, while receiving broad direction and instruction from the Manager Industrial Relations, in undertaking research and analysis, reporting on issues, and making recommendations to achieve successful industrial relations outcomes.
If successful, you will contribute to projects related to industrial entitlements and conditions of employees. Additionally, you will assist in representation on behalf of the Department before various industrial relations tribunals and other relevant forums on industrial relations and related issues.
