This role is central to strengthening accountability, compliance and continuous improvement across security operations, while maintaining alignment with legislative requirements, internal policies and best practice. You will also oversee critical compliance areas, including the Body Worn Camera framework, ensuring its effective and appropriate use in frontline security environments.

Working closely with the Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic advice, high-level project support and operational oversight to enhance safety outcomes for passengers and customers across the rail network. You will take ownership of the Branch’s Use of Force policies, procedures and review framework, prepare detailed post-incident reports and evidence, and advise on appropriate actions arising from reviews.

With responsibility for leading quality management improvements, undertaking targeted research projects and representing the Branch in key stakeholder forums, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence operational excellence and contribute to a safe, secure and customer-focused transport system.

About You

To be successful in this role you will: -

  • Proven experience in quality assurance and continuous improvement, ideally within a law enforcement, security or public safety environment, with strong exposure to use of force and critical incident reviews.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them to guide operational and compliance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with the ability to motivate teams, influence outcomes and drive a culture of accountability and ongoing improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, negotiate outcomes and develop clear, practical policies and procedures.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leading complex reviews or projects and applying strategic thinking to deliver evidence-based recommendations and effective change initiatives.
