Why Work with Us?
Main Roads Western Australia is the State Government agency responsible for managing and developing WA’s road network—over 18,500 km of roads across 2.5 million square kilometres. We plan, build and maintain a $46 billion state asset, working closely with the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, Public Transport Authority and local governments to deliver an integrated, world-class transport system.
About the Role
As the Business Manager, you will act as the functional lead for business management across the Directorate. You will oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of business systems, processes and reporting frameworks, ensuring alignment with corporate requirements and strategic priorities.
You will work closely with Senior Managers including General Managers, the Chief Operating Officer, Branch Managers and regional teams to support business planning, risk management and resource management. The role also provides leadership in the development of business capability and contributes to policy and resource management across the Directorate.
You will manage a small team and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the Directorate on committees, working groups and forums.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring substantial experience across business management, leadership and stakeholder engagement. This includes the ability to lead the development and improvement of business systems, processes and planning, while overseeing reporting, risk management and project administration to support consistent and strategic operations. You will also demonstrate strong leadership capability, providing direction and support to staff, building capability across regions and contributing to strategic planning while ensuring resources are managed effectively.
