The Role

An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a dedicated, reflective and relational leader to join the supportive leadership team at Baldivis Secondary College as Deputy Principal.

As Deputy Principal, you will lead the college’s Instructional Excellence portfolio, ensuring staff are empowered to deliver high-quality teaching and learning. You will coordinate and strengthen support for staff in the areas of Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), instructional coaching, and classroom observation and feedback, while also providing professional learning, mentoring and support in Teaching for Impact, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), and student engagement practices. This includes leadership of whole-school literacy and numeracy initiatives, as well as the ongoing implementation of the college’s instructional framework and commitment to observation and feedback processes.

At Baldivis Secondary College, planning has commenced for the 2027–2029 Business Plan. In this role, you will play a key part in leading staff through the school improvement process, developing strategic plans within your portfolio areas, and supporting Learning Area operational planning through alignment with the college’s planning processes and operational guidelines.

AVID is central to our commitment to ensuring every student can achieve success while equipping teachers with the evidence-based instructional strategies and supports aligned to the Tertiary and Career Readiness Framework. The successful applicant will lead the continued growth and implementation of AVID across the college, further embedding a culture of high expectations, opportunity and achievement for all students.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have sound knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to lead consistent Tier 1 Academic supports across the college and demonstrate additional skills across other Executive portfolios.
