About the role

Play a lead role in the delivery of operational training programs within a dynamic and safety-critical environment. You will oversee a team of trainers responsible for delivering accredited and non-accredited training primarily in  Rail Network Control.

You will manage training delivery, curriculum design and continuous improvement of learning programs to ensure high-quality, compliant and effective training services. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the training team, including scheduling, staffing, performance and resource management. You will contribute to training needs analysis, develop and enhance training materials, and ensure alignment with PTA standards and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements

Working closely with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts and external providers, you will deliver training solutions that meet current and future organisational needs. You will also play a key role in driving cultural change, enhancing rail safety capability and fostering a high-performing, collaborative training environment.

The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of PTA Safeworking Rules and Procedures, along with a strong understanding of operational activities and requirements in the PTA Network Control Centre ensuring expertise in rail network operations.

About You!

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Certificate IV in Rail Network Control (TLI40921) or equivalent qualification
  • Certificate IV in Training and Workplace Assessment (TAE 40122) or equivalent qualification is essential for this role, with an allowance for the achievement of this qualification within an agreed timeframe if not already held.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including team leadership, fostering a performance-driven culture and leading change initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly developed presentation and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Well-developed planning, organisational and time management skills, including a demonstrated ability to:
  • Prioritise and manage a range of diverse tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Schedule, coordinate, monitor and progress work/projects to achieve goals and objectives.
