About the role
The Operations Centre is a business unit within the Operational Support Directorate and is Corrective Services’ 24/7 point of contact for security and operational advice and incident management. The Operations Centre is responsible for identifying and mitigating risk, overseeing the safe and secure movement of incarcerated offenders, maintaining professional stakeholder relations, and developing timely and accurate notifications to the Commissioner and Director General.
The Principal Response Officer works in a team environment in the WA Corrective Services Operations Centre, based at the WA Police Force State Operations Command Centre in the Perth CBD.
The Operations Centre is staffed 7 days per week. The Principal Response Officer is required to perform shift work, including weekends and on-call after hours.
Eligibility
Permanent appointments - To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
Special conditions - this position will require:
- The position holder to be prepared to work shift and to be contactable 24 hours / 7 days a week.
- The position holder to be prepared to work out-of-hours (on-call).
- A current C or C-A class drivers’ licence.
- The position holder to submit to and maintain an integrity check conducted by WA Police Force.
