About the role
The role of the Clinical Nurse Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug (MHAOD) is to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of those identified as having mental health and/or drug and alcohol related problems, to assess and manage clinical risk and to participate in the development of the MHAOD Services.
As part of the MHAOD team, the successful applicant will be expected to:
- Maintain focus on the Department’s goals concerning safety, security and rehabilitation.
- Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions.
- Operate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department activity.
- Operate within chain of command facilities to coordinate activities required to meet the Department’s strategic objectives.
- Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriate.
Eligibility
Qualifications – successful applicants must have:
- Current registration in the category of Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant post graduate mental health qualification and experience in mental health nursing in complex clinical settings.
Permanent positions - to be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
