Digital
Health plays a core enablement role in empowering our workforce and
providing more equitable, accessible, integrated and innovative

At a time of
multiple, large scale digital transformation, infrastructure and
innovative clinical reform programs and initiatives being delivered
across WA Health, the Department of Health has recently appointed a
new Assistant Director General, Chief Digital Officer and is
mobilising the new Digital Health Division. It holds responsibility
for digital strategy, prioritisation, planning and design as well
as the implementation and assurance of major WA Health ICT projects
and will play a pivotal role in strengthening digital governance,
investment oversight, demand prioritisation, delivery capability
and maturity uplift across WA Health.
In addition
to the roles described below, more opportunities are anticipated to
arise in the near future across our priority functions, including
mobilisation of an enterprise Program Management Office, cyber
security streams and delivery of the WA Health Digital Strategy
2020-2030.
Position
Descriptions
The
Strategic Projects Team within the Digital Health
Division delivers priority strategic initiatives requested by the
Chief Digital Officer, including activities to redesign the WA
Health digital operating model and support other teams across the
division to deliver a mix of program assurance, business analyst,
project delivery, and strategic communications
activities.
PSO
Level 5 Project Officer – Strategic Projects, Digital Health
Division
The Project
Officer performs project and administrative functions within the
Strategic Projects Team to support other team members and the
Program Manager, Strategic Projects. The Project Officer will
support activities to contribute to the governance, development and
delivery of Digital Health initiatives, projects, policies and
relationships that contribute to the improvement of the WA health
system.
Other Conditions: WA
Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA
Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records
screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment
process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and
integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working
with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment
health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity
and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note that
adverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicant
but will be considered as part of the appointment
process.
Whilst this
selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy,
it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout
the health service. In addition to this, should the successful
applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next
most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12)
months from when the authorised delegate endorses the
recruitment decision.
