About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned and people‑centred Director Workforce Management to join our People and Culture team. This role offers a rare opportunity to put your stamp on enterprise‑wide workforce strategy, leading with integrity, emotional intelligence and commercial insight in a complex, evolving environment.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will lead an integrated portfolio spanning Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Work Design, HR Consultancy and Business Partnering, providing contemporary, forward‑focused workforce leadership that enables DTMI to deliver for the community.

A key challenge in this role will be leading experienced leaders and aligning multiple workforce functions to deliver a clear, enterprise-wide strategic direction in an environment where priorities are competing, stakeholder expectations are high, and not all variables or information are known. Success will require the ability to navigate ambiguity, apply deep professional expertise to complex and often sensitive issues, and build strong, strategic partnerships across the organisation to influence outcomes and drive sustainable change.

This is a permanent opportunity. Suitable applicants through this process may receive further offers of employment in this or similar roles for a period of 12 months.

What you’ll lead

  • Lead and align Employee Relations, Recruitment and Business Partnering services to deliver practical, innovative workforce solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive and senior leaders, influencing, advocating and educating to build workforce capability and leadership maturity.
  • Provide governance and oversight of complex employee, industrial and case management matters, underpinned by integrity, ethics and sound professional practice.
  • Drive change and service improvement through insight, data and a deep understanding of business and community needs.
  • Build leadership capability across the organisation by mentoring and empowering leaders to lead their people with confidence.
