At FSH we

8 and 12-hour shifts, to cater for your interests and
needs.

Roster Request System, to help you plan rostered days off, and
some work/life balance.

We
support our ICU nurses
- Up to 2
weeks SNUM for experienced Critical Care Nurses.
- Support
of 5.95 full time or equivalent Associate Nurse Unit Managers
who have a mixed clinical and operational portfolio (the ANUM
team are Clinical Experts in ICU).
- Dedicated Assistants in
Nursing rostered 24/7 who assist in patients’ activities of
daily living and pressure area care across all of
ICU.
- Protected nursing ratios
for hyper acute patients i.e., ECMO & Hi-Flow CRRT are nursed
2:1.

- One of
the busiest ICUs in Australia/NZ; the largest and most acute
ICU in Western Australia
- The
state referral centre for Adult Burns, Advanced Heart Failure,
Advanced Lung Disease, Heart & Lung Transplant Service,
Hyperbaric Medicine, ECMO (inc a Retrieval Service), Advanced
Heart Failure Therapies, High Risk Maternity & critically ill
Obstetric patients, Neurological Intervention & Imaging Service
of Western Australia (NIISwa).
- 40 Beds
– each in a single room, with a mixture of negative and
positive pressures, temperature controls, heap-filtered and
hybrid rooms.
Leaders in
Education
Our ICU and
the SMHS supports our ICU nursing team members,
including:
- Courses
(CALS-ANZ, BASIC, ELSO).
- In-depth
specialty-based ICU Multidisciplinary training programs
delivered inhouse with guest presenters and subject matter
experts in their field
- 7 full
time or equivalent Clinical Nurse Educators covering a 7-day a
week, 12-hour shift roster
- A
dedicated Post Graduate Clinical Educator and PG Nurse
Education team
- A
dedicated Critical Care Nurse & Midwifery Educator who is
responsible for the strategic and operational management of our
Clinical Education Team.
Leaders in
Research
Our ICU
is actively involved in various projects, from the support of local
investigators conducting audits and single centre studies, to
leading international clinical trials.
We support
and encourage research participation from all members of the ICU
team as part of usual care and welcome all enquiries about current
or future research projects.

1) Demonstrated clinical expertise in critical care, with a
minimum of 2 years’ experience in a critical care
setting
2) We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication

communicated with a team to achieve a shared goal.
