The Role
As a Level 1 Laboratory Technician, under the instruction of the Level 2 Laboratory Technician, you will provide support to teaching staff in routine chemical and equipment preparation and construction of simple apparatus for science classes, as well as ordering supplies, equipment and managing stock levels
The successful applicant will perform basic repair and maintenance on the equipment whilst constructing teaching aids as required. Additionally, you may be responsible for the labelling, maintaining and safe storing of laboratory chemicals, equipment and resources and the disposal of chemical, physical, and biological laboratory materials.
The successful applicant will ideally show initiative and possess good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as strong organisational skills. Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practises and policies is recommended. You should also be motivated and possess the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a team. Previous experience in an education science laboratory setting is desirable.
