The Role

Gilmore College is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mathematics teacher to join our dynamic and dedicated team. The successful applicant will ideally display excellence in teaching and learning, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to inspire students to achieve their best in Mathematics.

As a member of our Mathematics Learning Area, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative educator committed to the development of the whole student. You will ideally be actively involved within the school and wider community, reflective in your teaching practice, and committed to evidence-based decision-making and differentiation to meet the needs of all students.

The successful applcant will ideally be an innovative teacher who uses Explicit Instruction effectively and aligns their practice with the school’s Whole-School Instructional Model. You should have a strong understanding of Whole-School Literacy and Numeracy and recognise the importance of consistent approaches that support student growth across all learning areas.

You will ideally have experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics (Applications and/or Methods) and display a deep understanding of Explicit Instruction and effective pedagogy. You should be confident in using data-informed practices to monitor and enhance student progress. Strong classroom management and communication skills, particularly in supporting Students at Educational Risk (SAER) and extending high-achieving students, are highly valued. A strong commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment is desirable, as is the ability to develop clear learning pathways that support progression from lower to senior school.

You will ideally work collaboratively within a supportive faculty, contributing to a positive and professional team culture. A willingness to share resources, ideas and expertise, actively support whole-school improvement initiatives, and value feedback and teamwork is desirable. You should be committed to achieving the school’s shared vision for excellence in teaching and learning.
