About the role

This role is responsible for ensuring the operational performance of civil assets is safe, reliable and cost effective. You will oversee maintenance and repair activities, ensuring works are completed in accordance with Public Transport Authority (PTA) standards and customer requirements.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will supervise staff and contractors, monitor performance against KPIs, and contribute to planning and continuous improvement initiatives. You will analyse asset condition data, prioritise defects, and support maintenance planning to optimise asset performance and reliability.

You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety, operational and legislative requirements, investigating incidents, preparing technical reports, and liaising with internal stakeholders, government agencies and the public to support effective rail operations.

About You!

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A relevant trade qualification (or equivalent) with experience in civil/structural asset maintenance
  • Experience supervising maintenance works in an electrified urban rail environment, including planning and scheduling work in restricted windows
  • Strong leadership and resource management skills across staff, contractors, budgets and assets
  • Well-developed communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate projects and respond to operational issues
