About the role

In this role, you will lead the safety, training and quality management of the School Buses Branch. You will establish and maintain systems and procedures to ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, standards and contractor requirements.

Play a pivotal role in compliance monitoring, auditing and reporting activities, ensuring contractor adherence to safety and regulatory obligations. You will coordinate audits, investigations and reviews, manage risk registers and corrective actions, and provide detailed analysis and recommendations to drive continuous improvement.

You will also provide leadership, coordinate training and development programs, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture. This role involves travel to regional and remote locations to support contractor engagement, audits and service reviews.

About You!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or higher) with strong knowledge of safety legislation and systems
  • Demonstrated experience in auditing safety management and quality systems in a contractor environment
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive safety outcomes
