The Role
We are seeking a Year 1/ 2 teacher to join our small team at Brunswick Junction PS. At Brunswick Junction PS, we seek staff who can provide a learning environment that inspires a love of learning to maximise student achievement and progress. Suitable applicants will display beliefs that all children can learn and be successful. We are seeking a teacher who is creative in their approach and recognises student individualities and caters for and celebrates cultural diversity. They will be committed to ongoing professional growth and development and support current whole school processes.
We seek a teacher who possesses proficiency in current and effective evidence-based teaching practices, strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and is able to demonstrate an understanding of, or ability to deliver high quality programs such as Talk 4 Writing, UFLI, Origo, Bond Blocks and Friendly Schools. Suitable applicants will be confident and competent in utilising data to differentiate learning and be able to demonstrate how they evaluate their impact on student progress and achievement.
The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to build strong and valuable relationships with students, staff, and the school community. They should exhibit proactive strategies to support and improve student behaviour and engagement, to enable positive outcomes in and out of the classroom and therefore be committed to implement PBS in the classroom and across the school.
The appointed teacher should be willing to actively participate in professional learning networks in and out of the school. We are seeking a teacher who is committed to contributing to a distributed leadership model, Level 3 or aspiring Level 3 teachers are encouraged to apply.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
