About the Role
Halls Creek DHS is located in the East Kimberley region and located on the lands of the Kidja and Djaru people. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a positive school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and staff and staff engaging parents and the wider communities of Halls Creek in ensuring the school connects with these communities to be a culturally responsive school. The school continues to have an Aboriginal Advisory Group representing parents and communities which provides strategic advice and advocacy for the school. The principal will be required to play a critical role in this group.
Principal will continue to lead the work in implementing the Community Engagement and Attendance Plan to ensure the school is working in partnership with parents and families in supporting students to school and engaging with them on engaging primary and secondary education pathways to graduation through academic, vocational and alternative innovative education pathways.
Halls Creek DHS continues to focus on the four pillars of the Kimberley Schools Project including attendance, targeted teaching, early years place based initiatives, including the Two Science Program/On Country Programs. The principal will be required to work in collaboration with Two Science Statewide Services, KSP Coaches and teaching staff.
The Principal of Halls Creek DHS must possess a commitment to continuous school improvement and continuation of the primary and secondary instructional programs, particularly in supporting of beginning teachers, and in working within the East Kimberley network with other agencies, other schools, and services in the community to ensure students achieve their potential at school.
